This is a journal of the attempts of a complete Newbie to use Linux in a LAN Render Farm. In a home environment, we need a File Server, a laptop for mobile recording, documentation and access and finally, if possible, other machines that can be used in the Farm. The immediate problem is that much of the Cow software that I will be using only runs on Windows or Macs. So, I may well have to consider cross-networking or possibly Virtualisation. Time will tell…
