Trials of a Linux Newbie

Kernel Panic!!

Another Hard Drive bites the dust!

The second hard drive in the File Server, the 80Gb, has failed now with the same error. I have been assuming that I am having hardware faults because of the old hardware, but maybe not? I don’t know. I’ll keep on going and the next time the error happens I’ll record the message. It was wittering on about being unable to mount the VFS or something on such and such a block, therefore my assumption about the hard drive failing. It always seems to happen after the system has frozen and I have used the BRB technique.

Still have a lot to learn, obviously :(
